WIN Wednesday:
Building the Leaders Who Will Transform Their Communities
At ROADS Academy, we don’t just educate students—we empower Leaders who will transform their communities and create lasting change. WIN Wednesday is a groundbreaking program that extends beyond academics, instilling in our Leaders the skills, ethics, and resilience they need to become agents of positive change in their own lives and in Pomona.

The WIN framework is built on three interconnected pillars:
✔ Wisdom – The foundation of knowledge, research, and exploration
✔ Integrity – The commitment to ethical leadership, community engagement, and restorative action
✔ Nurture – The focus on mental well-being, emotional intelligence, and self-care

These three components work together, ensuring that every student at ROADS Academy is not just prepared for the future but is actively shaping it—learning to research critical issues, develop real-world solutions, and take action to improve their community.
Through WIN, our Leaders will not only learn—they will lead.
How WIN Works
On WIN Wednesdays, our students (Leaders) will:
✅ Research real-world issues that impact their communities, such as homelessness, environmental sustainability, financial literacy, and public health.
✅ Develop and implement action-based community projects—whether it’s launching a sustainability initiative, creating mental health awareness campaigns, or working on financial empowerment programs for families.
✅ Engage in hands-on workshops and mentoring sessions with local business leaders, activists, and professionals who will guide them in career exploration, leadership development, and ethical decision-making.
✅ Practice self-care and resilience through activities focused on mental health, mindfulness, and personal growth, ensuring that they are emotionally strong and ready to take on the world.

By combining Wisdom, Integrity, and Nurture, our Leaders will learn how to build solutions, take action, and sustain their energy and motivation for long-term success.
The WIN Pyramid

The WIN Pyramid:
Wisdom, Integrity, Nurture in Action

🌟 WISDOM – Research, Inquiry & Exploration
The foundation of the WIN pyramid, Wisdom teaches Leaders how to ask the right questions, analyze data, and research solutions to societal challenges. We don’t just give our students information—we teach them how to find, assess, and apply knowledge in meaningful ways.
💡 What Leaders Will Do:
✔ Investigate real-world issues impacting their community (poverty, education gaps, environmental concerns).
✔ Learn how to conduct research, analyze data, and use credible sources to develop informed solutions.
✔ Explore career pathways and learn how education and skill-building connect to their future success.
✔ Create research-driven projects that propose solutions to community problems.
🔥 Community Impact: Leaders will research local issues and propose informed, data-driven solutions that can make a lasting difference in Pomona.

💡 INTEGRITY – Ethical Leadership & Community Action
The second tier of the pyramid, Integrity is where knowledge turns into action. Our Leaders apply what they have learned in Wisdom to serve their communities, create impact projects, and build strong leadership skills.
💡 What Leaders Will Do:
✔ Engage in community service projects that address local challenges.
✔ Participate in restorative circles—learning how to mediate conflicts, have difficult conversations, and create safe, inclusive environments.
✔ Develop ethical decision-making skills through discussions on leadership, responsibility, and social impact.
✔ Partner with local organizations, businesses, and city leaders to create tangible change.
🔥 Community Impact: Leaders turn knowledge into action, designing and launching projects that create real, measurable change in their neighborhoods.

💙 NURTURE – Mental Well-Being & Personal Growth
The top of the pyramid, Nurture ensures that our Leaders have the mental, emotional, and physical well-being necessary to sustain their efforts. To change the world, they must first take care of themselves.
💡 What Leaders Will Do:
✔ Participate in mental health and wellness workshops focusing on emotional resilience and self-care.
✔ Learn mindfulness and stress-management techniques to navigate life’s challenges.
✔ Take part in vision board sessions, self-reflection exercises, and motivational coaching to set personal and academic goals.
✔ Develop healthy habits around nutrition, exercise, and work-life balance.
🔥 Community Impact: Leaders will model resilience, self-care, and emotional intelligence, creating a culture of well-being within their school and community.
